Where Am I?
This is an apolgy for not keeping updated in the episodes that I have posted and now I have got so far behind that I don’t know where I am. Anyway I’ll try to sort it out now.
Aftermath: Gone Maggie Gone
I did not post a Last night’s episode ‘Gone Maggie Gone’ received 5.97 million viewers — beating out last week’s ‘No Loan Again, Naturally’ as second least watched episode of all time. This comes as Fox have consistently programmed new episodes for three weeks in a row, and even got around to advertising this week’s episode during its commercial breaks throughout the week. One reason for the poor ratings was the shows lead-in, one hour of the mind-numbing Hole In The Wall, which had an average of 2.13 million viewers (well below cancellation territory).
King Of The Hill had 5.38 million viewers, while Family Guy had 7.21 million and American Dad had 5.82 million. Fox was fourth overall for the night and third among adults 18 – 49.
New episodes continue for at least the next two weeks, with In The Name Of The Grandfather airing on St Pat’s day in UK/Ireland and tommorow on Fox.
Aftermath: No Loan Again, Naturally
So I’m kinda behind of posting these. This episode aired the 8 March.
‘No Loan Again, Naturally’ had a total of 5.99 million viewers, making it the second least watched episode of all time. In twenty years, only Lisa The Drama Queen, which aired in January, received less viewers (5.75 million). Those blaming low ratings on unsteady scheduling might want to rethink their point of view. The episode was the second most watched show on Fox all night, trailing Family Guy which had 7.17 million viewers. King Of The Hill had 4.92 million, while American Dad had 5.32 million.
Desperate Housewives (13.5 million) and 60 Minutes ( 13.13 million) were the most watched shows of the night. The Fox network was fourth overall and among adults 18-49 for the night.
In other news, for those of you keeping track, the amended figure for the 1st March’s ‘How The Test Was Won’ was officially 6.53 million viewers.
A new episode, Gone Maggie Gone airs next Sunday.
Aftermath: How the Test Was Won
And the results are in How the Test Was Won scored an average (read on) of 6.5 million viewers.
The amound of viewers varies because the previous programme (NASCAR) overrun by 10 to 15 minutes, so the viewers of NASCAR were still watching when The Simpsons were ment to be on. Here’s the breakdown:
8:30 pm – NASCAR/The Simpsons (6.71 million)
9:00 pm – The Simpsons/King of the Hill (6.32 million)
While the figure isn’t concrete, we can be sure that the show didnt break new heights or lows this week — a nice steady number which is what we’ve come to expect from the show in its 20th season. Fox was third overall for the night and second among adults 18 – 49. The Simpsons was third placed in its timeslot, behind Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and The Amazing Race and because of the delay King of The Kill offically had quite good ratings.
No Loan Again, Naturally airs next Sunday night and is probably going to get about 7-8 million if we are lucky.
2 More Simpson Seasons
Earlier this week Fox ordered two more seasons (21 and 22) of The Simpsons, meaning that The Simpsons will be on TV until 2011 and will have broadcast 493 episodes.
It also means that it will take the lead in the longest show running. “Gunsmoke” has held the record as the longest-running series and was on the air for 20 years. “The Simpsons” and NBC’s “Law & Order” have been closing in on the Western classic, with Fox’s comedy tying “Gunsmoke” this year and “Order” currently airing its 19th season. And with NBC shedding its 10 p.m. hour and the “L&O” flagship pulling modest numbers, the chances of the crime drama outlasting “The Simpsons” seems unlikely.
The “Simpsons” pickup came after 20th TV closed a new deal with James L. Brooks’ company Gracie Films on Wednesday. The voice cast was already secured for two more years as part of their most recent contract negotiations.

There is enough episodes above to go to the end of Season 20, but some might be carried over to Season 21 and some might be added from nowhere.
